Truster

Truster builds an invoicing and payroll platform for light entrepreneurs (kevytyrittäjä), sole proprietors (toiminimi) and small businesses. Light entrepreneurs invoice clients without a Business ID, while sole proprietors receive a Business ID and bookkeeping, VAT and tax filings handled by the service. The product includes iOS, Android and web apps, an open API, an AI assistant, and Secure Mail with electronic signatures.

Customers are freelancers and gig workers across fields such as food delivery, consulting, photography and construction. Revenue comes from a commission of 3.99% of invoiced amounts or a fixed monthly fee (55 EUR for light entrepreneurs, 59 EUR or 59.90 EUR for sole proprietorships), plus a 5% fee for the HetiPalkka early-payment option. Companies can use the Truster Platform for bulk invoicing, DAC7 reports and payroll.

Truster was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in Helsinki. It operates in Finland and Sweden and states that it plans to expand into other EU countries. It is a payment institution approved by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority. The company is hiring for AI-focused engineering roles.
