YMS builds information systems, geographic information systems (GIS) and technical information systems. Its named products include ySpatial, a map portal, yAgenda, an electronic organisation platform, yDecision, a spatial decision-making platform, and ySpace, a tool for processing satellite imagery. It also delivers custom systems, such as digital agricultural and veterinary supervision for state bodies.

YMS was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Trnava, Slovakia. Its website dates the start of the company to 1990. It is a certified research laboratory and an ESA partner, and holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO 27001:2014 and ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 certifications.
