Tenboron

Tenboron is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing boron carriers for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT), a cancer radiotherapy in which boron-10 atoms are delivered selectively to cancer cells and react under low-energy neutron radiation. Its proprietary carriers are designed to create a large concentration difference between cancer cells and healthy tissue. The lead product, the antibody-boron conjugate TB0010, is being prepared for a phase 1b clinical trial in recurrent head and neck carcinomas.

The company was founded in 2010 (registered 21 December 2010) and began operating in late 2011. It was formed after BNCT trials at Helsinki University Central Hospital and the VTT FiR-1 reactor facility, with the aim of developing carriers that are approved and commercially available. Manufacturing partners are Biovian Ltd. and Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing, the clinical research partner is Optimapharm Ltd., and the R&D partner is Glykos Finland Ltd.

Tenboron is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. Its board includes Timo Veromaa (chairman), and Juha Jouhki has served as CEO since 2015. The management team includes a medical director, a head of CMC, a head of R&D and quality assurance staff.
