About Vactech

Vactech Oy is a Finnish biotechnology company developing vaccines and diagnostics for type 1 diabetes, celiac disease and enterovirus-related conditions. Its flagship product is PRV-101, a patented preventive vaccine for type 1 diabetes that is in clinical trials. Its IMAVAC platform uses virus-like particles for vaccine development.

The company develops and licenses vaccines and technologies for vaccines and diagnostics. It holds patents covering the preventive type 1 diabetes vaccine, antiviral drugs and diagnostic assays for type 1 diabetes, and international patents on virus-based products for celiac disease. It collaborates with academic groups and industry partners, and has taken part in two EU-funded research consortia, PEVNET and ENT1DEP.

Vactech was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Tampere, Finland. In November 2025 it opened a Research Hub at Tampere University's Kauppi campus.
