About TBD Pharmatech

TBD Pharmatech is a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) for small-molecule active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and fine chemicals. Services include route scouting, process development, technology transfer, scale-up, GMP manufacturing for batches of about 3–200 kg, analytical method development and QC, Qualified Person release, custom synthesis, and sourcing and distribution of chemicals.

Its customers are pharmaceutical and biotech companies. In 2019 the company reported a 95% export rate, serving mainly Germany, the Netherlands, Latvia, Israel and South Korea.

TBD Pharmatech was founded in 2006 as TBD-Biodiscovery, spun off from the University of Tartu, and renamed TBD Pharmatech in 2022. It operates two EU GMP-certified API sites in Tartu, Estonia: the Tiigi site (GMP-certified since 2008) and the Välja site (GMP certificate issued in 2026). The company holds ISO 9001 certification and currently lists an open Chemical (Process) Engineer position.
