About Shotton Mill
Shotton Mill Limited is developing a containerboard and tissue paper manufacturing campus at Shotton, in Deeside. The centrepiece is a containerboard machine that uses 100% recycled fibre, supported by a fibre recycling operation, a 45MWe biomass CHP plant and water and effluent treatment. Eren Holding is constructing the site, which includes new Valmet paper machines.
Once operational, the mill will have capacity to manufacture 750,000 tonnes per year of containerboard and 67,000 tonnes per year of tissue paper, with potential to increase to 210,000 tonnes. Its customers are box manufacturers and packaging groups across the UK, Europe and beyond.
The company was founded in December 2020 and is headquartered in Deeside. The project is described as a £1.4bn transformation of the Deeside site. The company is hiring for engineering and maintenance technicians who will commission and run the new plant, shift leadership in operations, commercial sales roles and support functions, with six roles open at the time of publication.
