About Signal Plastic Components
Signal Plastic Components Ltd, trading as Signal Plastics, makes plastic components by injection moulding at its site in Washington, Tyne and Wear. It is one of two North East facilities in Omega Plastics Group, alongside Omega Plastics in Gateshead, and focuses on high-volume moulding. Its presses range from 40T to 1,300T and include hydraulic and all-electric machines.
The group offers a turnkey service covering injection tooling, moulding, assembly, supply chain management, and metrology and validation. Customers are manufacturers in automotive, medical, consumer products, industrial and technical products, and aerospace and defence. The Omega Plastics Group holding company is based in Gateshead, where the group headquarters is located.
The company was founded in 2012. Omega Plastics acquired Signal Plastics in 2015, and Signal moved to a 43,500 sq. ft facility in Washington in 2016. The group reports over 190 personnel across its two locations. Open roles at the Washington site include production operatives, injection moulding machine setters, and a materials and scheduling controller.
