About Remora Robotics
Remora Robotics builds a patented, fully autonomous submarine robot that cleans and inspects net pens in fish farms while collecting data on the pen's aquatic environment. The robot washes the cage during its daily trip, scans the entire net and uses sensors to record conditions at all depths. The company also launched Remora Insight, a cloud-based platform that combines continuous hole detection with real-time monitoring and documentation of net conditions.
Its customers are fish farmers, and the company works directly with them to design its cleaning equipment. Named customers and partners include Mowi, Bremnes Seashore and Frøy Gruppen, and the company has signed a national framework agreement. The stated aims are reduced biofouling, improved fish welfare and simpler farm operations.
Remora Robotics was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Stavanger, Norway, where it also runs an operations centre and production facilities. Its investors include Grieg and Momentum. In 2025 it announced a growth funding round of 164 million NOK. It has begun operations in Production Area 4 in Norway and ran its first international operation in Chile in 2024.
Product: Autonomous submarine robot that cleans and inspects fish farm net pens and collects environmental data, plus the Remora Insight cloud platform for net condition monitoring.
