MEMSCAP designs, manufactures and markets MEMS-based pressure sensors and transducers for avionics and medical use, including pressure switches, sterile monitoring line sets and customised sensor solutions. It also supplies Variable Optical Attenuator chips for fiber-optic networks and receives royalties on one of its registered trademarks.

Its customers are aerospace and defense system makers, whose sensors are used in air data computers, cabin pressure systems, altimeters and emergency systems, and medical device manufacturers, including makers of patient monitoring systems for intensive care and dialysis. The company sells packaged components, pressure sensor modules and chips, and earns royalties on the IOMA trademark.

The group was created in November 1997, and MEMSCAP AS, based in Skoppum, Norway, was founded in 1999. Other sites listed include MEMSCAP S.A. in Crolles, France. The company's shares trade on Euronext Paris. It is recruiting for its development, production, sales, management and corporate R&D teams.
