About FARA

FARA develops transport systems for public transport, including account-based ticketing, contactless EMV ticketing, driver and ticket inspection applications, real-time passenger information, displays, public messages and active traffic control. Solutions can be integrated into existing systems or deployed standalone.

FARA was founded in 2005 as a spin-off from Q-Free's automatic fare collection division and is headquartered in Trondheim, Norway. It also lists offices in Sønderborg (Denmark), Oulu (Finland), Kristinehamn (Sweden) and Warsaw (Poland). The company was acquired by Ticketer in 2019 and joined the Modaxo group in November 2023. It recruits developers, customer support and finance staff.
