About Blastr Green Steel

Blastr Green Steel (BGS) produces ultra-low CO2 steel through a vertically integrated value chain, from raw materials to finished product. Its process replaces coal and coke with clean hydrogen, and the company states that it controls emissions, product quality and cost across the chain.

Its steel is aimed at demanding sectors such as automotive and construction. The company plans annual production of 2.5 million tonnes of ultra-low CO2 steel and intends to roll out additional steel plants across Europe.

BGS was founded in 2021 and is backed by Vanir Green Industries, a Nordic investment company. Its headquarters are in Inkoo, Finland, and it has offices in Oslo, Norway and Watford, United Kingdom.
