About Alva Energy
Alva Energy develops nuclear uprates, which increase the output of existing reactors. Its Alva Uprate combines replacement steam generators, a second turbine plant (2TGP) built outside the protected area, and a dual-redundant digital control system called DUO-SYNC. Each 250-300 MWe uprate is described as costing around $1 billion and deployable in less than two years following procurement. The design adapts the roughly 20% uprate completed at Ringhals Unit 4 in Sweden.
Customers are utilities, power purchasers and project investors. Uprates are offered as turnkey, delivered firm-fixed-price projects with standardized scope, and the company describes off-balance-sheet financing that lets utilities take part in high-value PPAs. Alva states a US fleet potential of 10 GWe.
Alva's backers include Playground Global, Segra Capital, NGP Energy and 8VC. Its open roles are in engineering and operations, including steam turbine plant engineering, nuclear new build, integration and QA. Listed offices are in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with roles also in New York and Philadelphia.
