About Vertical Compute
Vertical Compute develops chiplets that place vertical columns of data directly next to processing cores. The technology combines vertical memory concepts with nano-magnetism and is branded as VIM (Vertical Integrated Memory).
The chiplets are delivered as modular components that chipmakers can integrate. The company targets AI and generative AI workloads, connected devices and edge computing, data centers, and high-performance computing, and names AI architects and industrial partners among its intended users.
Vertical Compute was founded in October 2024 and is led by CEO Sylvain Dubois and CTO Sébastien Couet, a former imec program director for MRAM development. It reports a €20 million seed round in January 2025, an imec strategic partnership, and a €57 million raise in March 2026. Offices are listed in Leuven, Louvain-La-Neuve, Paris, Grenoble and Nice. Open roles include chiplet, RTL verification, hardware and software architecture, and program management positions, mostly remote.
Product: VIM vertical memory chiplets that bring data closer to processing cores for AI acceleration
