Trefadder

Trefadder is a Norwegian nature platform that organises verified tree planting and the restoration of forest and marine ecosystems in the Nordics. Its offerings include certified carbon credits, marine biodiversity projects such as kelp forest and artificial reef restoration, and land biodiversity projects. The Walk for Trees app turns team steps into tree planting, with one tree planted per 10,000 steps.

Its customers are businesses that want to invest in verified projects and document their climate and nature impact. Customer testimonials on the website come from Archer, Nordan AS and Vigor Industrier. Projects are registered in the Norwegian property register, monitored through field surveys and remote sensing, and reported through impact dashboards aligned with ISO 14064-2.

Trefadder was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in Haugesund, Norway. Its stated long-term goal is to plant 100 million trees by 2050. The company says it was selected by Microsoft AI for Earth as one of three Norwegian participants, and it lists ISO 14001 certification and VM0047-based methodology.
