About Theater im Marienbad
Theater im Marienbad is a children and youth theatre in Freiburg im Breisgau. It stages productions such as "Troja! Blinde Passagiere im trojanischen Pferd", "Heimsuchung" after Jenny Erpenbeck, "Ich, Ikarus" and "Der Koffer", with age recommendations from 4+ to 16+. It also offers a theatre education programme for teachers.
Its audiences are children, young people, teachers and other theatre-goers, as the theatre states that it does not work exclusively for a young audience. The theatre is run by an ensemble of 15 employees, supplemented by guest artists from acting, performance, music and dance for individual productions. Sonja Karadza has been artistic director and Alexander Lepach commercial director since 2017.
The theatre has worked for more than 30 years on developing its own theatre building. It has a performance venue called the Kesselhaus. It is currently recruiting an event technician in Freiburg, actors for the 2027/28 season, and service staff.
Product: Theatre productions for children and young audiences, plus theatre education for teachers.
