About The Rack People
The Rack People designs and sells rack enclosures for IT equipment. Its range is grouped into Quiet Racks (soundproofed cabinets), Cooling Racks (cabinets with built-in heat removal as an alternative to cooling whole rooms) and Innovation Racks (upgradeable and bespoke designs), and also includes IP-rated, anti-vibration and standard 19-inch cabinets. The company describes its rack solutions as Micro Data Centres that combine cooling, security, resilience and monitoring.
Customers are businesses that run IT equipment in server rooms or localised racks, including small and medium-sized businesses; the website names NATO, Nokia, Transport for London, Boeing, NHS and the BBC among past customers. Products are sold directly and through a reseller network with a partner programme and global delivery.
The company was founded in 2002 as Acousti Products Ltd and renamed The Rack People in 2013. It is registered in England and Wales and is headquartered in Lichfield. It is an accredited supplier to The Carbon Trust.
