About Taigatech
Taigatech develops AI and computer-vision systems for sawmills. Its SawTurn product measures log movement and checks the log turning machine to improve sawing yield. Process Surveillance analyses image streams from existing cameras to detect production errors and machine problems.
The systems are built for sawmills and integrate into existing production lines by communicating with PLCs in the control system. Named customers include Derome Timber, AB Hilmer Andersson, ATA Timber and Combimill Sakala in Estonia, where Taigatech delivered its second installation. A Derome sawmill reported a yield increase of 0.7-1.7% depending on tree species.
The website lists Derome's first system installed at Kinnared in June 2024 and an ATA Timber order of three systems. Taigatech is hiring an automation lead in Gothenburg, Sweden, and offers a master's thesis topic for spring 2027 on 3D perception and domain-adaptive models.
Product: SawTurn log-rotation measurement and control for sawmills, and Process Surveillance camera-based production monitoring.
