About Surma

Surma develops SURMA, a software suite for assessing the combat survivability of naval vessels. SURMA Core provides a 3D environment in which analysis modules run, including UNDEX and AIREX for vulnerability assessment against shock, fragment, air blast and flooding effects, and SURMA MG for static magnetic signature assessment. SURMA Report produces interactive HTML reports.

Customers are ship designers and navy and defence organisations. Surma sells its software tools and offers consulting on survivability, susceptibility (radar, infrared and magnetic signatures) and electromagnetic compatibility analysis.

Surma was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Helsinki. DA-Group acquired Surma in 2018 to strengthen its defence and naval technology capabilities, and the Helsinki office was established as part of that purchase.

Product: SURMA software suite (SURMA Core with UNDEX, AIREX, MG analysis modules and SURMA Report) plus combat survivability consulting services.
