About Solar Century Africa
Solarcentury Africa develops, builds, owns and operates solar PV and battery energy storage projects in sub-Saharan Africa. Its services cover design, engineering, procurement, commercial structuring, financing, EPC management and asset operations. The company also sells electricity from merchant plants within the Southern African Power Pool, where it holds full market participant membership.
It works on an integrated model in which it designs and builds projects, owns and operates them, and arranges equity and debt, PPAs or BOOT agreements. Its customers include large industrial users such as mines, utilities and independent power projects, often under long-term PPA or lease contracts.
The company is headquartered in London and lists markets including Botswana, Gibraltar, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The website reports 719 MW of solar projects delivered or in construction, 22.5 MWh of battery storage, 572 MW in active development and more than 4 GW in the pipeline.
