About Smarter Grid Solutions

Smarter Grid Solutions develops distributed energy resource management system (DERMS) software for connecting, monitoring, controlling and optimizing distributed energy assets. Its products support grid capacity management, flexible interconnection, virtual power plants, microgrids and local energy applications.

Customers include utilities, network operators, energy service companies, battery fleet operators, renewable generation operators and other energy asset owners and operators. It works with approved integrator partners that resell and integrate its products.

Founded in 2008 as a University of Strathclyde spin-out, the company is headquartered in Glasgow and operates across the UK and North America. It became a division of Mitsubishi Electric Power Products after its acquisition in August 2021.
