The company describes its customers as law enforcement and military organisations. Products are designed and made in Finland under a management system certified to ISO 9001:2015. The range also includes muzzle devices, QD mounting accessories and a modular 22LR suppressor.

Silent Steel was founded in 2020 and is based in Mikkeli, Finland. It is a member of the Savo Defence network. The company also has Silent Steel USA in South Lyon, Michigan, which is a member of NSSF. Its gas flow technology was patented in 2022.
