About Release Solar

Release, a Norwegian company, provides pre-assembled, containerised movable solar PV and battery storage (BESS) equipment for distributed generation projects starting from 5 MWp blocks. The equipment is pre-financed and offered under flexible leasing contracts with terms shorter than 5 years.

Its customers are utilities and industrial companies, which lease the equipment rather than buying it. The company is owned by Scatec ASA (68%) and Climate Fund Managers (32%) through the Climate Investor One Fund. Release is a Scatec solution and is registered in Norway with Oslo as its headquarters.

Release has signed lease agreements for projects in Botswana, Liberia and Sierra Leone, including a 21 MW solar plant at the Motheo copper mine in Botswana.
