About Port of Middlesbrough
Port of Middlesbrough is a 40-hectare port on the south side of the River Tees in Middlesbrough, North East England. It offers port operations, warehousing and storage, rail freight, road haulage, an intermodal park and an onsite shipping agency. It is owned and operated by AV Dawson.
Customers are manufacturers, importers and exporters, with services covering energy and renewables, construction, agriculture, automotive and waste. The site has deep-water berths, heavy and high access, four market-specific rail terminals linked to the East Coast Mainline, and a road fleet that includes 44-tonne articulated trucks. The company states it holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification.
The port was founded in 1938 as part of the AV Dawson group, and the legal entity Port of Middlesbrough Ltd was incorporated in 2019. The company announced a £5 million dry bulk rail terminal investment at the port. Current vacancies include HGV drivers, a HGV technician, a shipping coordinator and a port coordinator.
