About Novana
Novana is developing a facility in Tahkoluoto, Pori, to recover vanadium pentoxide from steelmaking slag. The process also produces stabilized slag material, which can be used in cement and other applications, and consumes CO2 that is sequestered in the byproduct.
The company’s proposed plant is designed to process steel-industry side streams from EU mills and supply vanadium products for steel and energy-storage uses. Its planned ecosystem includes European supply-chain partners and an offtake partnership with Glencore.
Novana Oy was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. The proposed Pori facility has an indicative construction timeline from 2027 to 2029.
Product: A planned facility to recover vanadium pentoxide from steel slag and produce stabilized slag material as a byproduct.
