About Nodes
NODES AS, which trades as NODESmarket, operates a platform for trading flexibility between system operators and flexibility service providers. The platform covers membership, market setup, reservation and activation of flexibility, dispatch notifications, validation of delivered flexibility and financial settlement. GridTools is a separate decision-support platform that helps grid operators procure and activate flexibility.
Customers are system operators, which buy flexibility to manage congestion and capacity in their grids, and flexibility service providers, such as battery storage and wind, solar and other distributed energy resource operators, which sell it. The company names Göteborg Energi, Mitnetz Strom, Tibber and Hydro One among its partners and customers. Its projects include sthlmflex in Stockholm, a UK Power Networks market setup and a NorFlex mFRR market in Norway.
NODES AS was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Lysaker, Norway. The Polish Power Exchange (TGE) has taken a 10 per cent stake in the company and the two have formed a partnership to develop flexibility services in Poland. The company holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for information security, valid until 2029.
