NHBC provides warranty and insurance policies for new homes, including Buildmark for homes for sale, Buildmark Choice for new rental or shared ownership homes, and Buildmark Connect for commercial premises in mixed-use developments. It also carries out independent inspections during construction and offers Construction Quality Services, Land Quality Services, Building Control and NHBC System Review.
Its customers are house builders and developers, who must be registered with NHBC to offer its cover on new homes, and homeowners. The company also serves build to rent, local authorities, housing associations and retirement communities, and sells training courses, NVQs and apprenticeships to the construction sector.
Established in 1936, NHBC is a company limited by guarantee with no shareholders and is independent of government and the construction industry; profits are reinvested in the business. It has opened a training hub in Northstowe. Current openings are for a Complaints Officer and a Voice of the Consumer Insights Lead in Milton Keynes, and a Reserving Actuary based in England-Nationwide, Milton Keynes or London.
