About Newvys
Newvys develops advanced modular nuclear reactors in Slovakia, centred on the LFR-AS-200 lead-cooled fast modular reactor. The company's stated aim is to close the nuclear fuel cycle by reusing and recycling spent nuclear fuel, which it says could reduce Slovakia's dependence on natural uranium.
Newvys is a joint venture of JAVYS (51%), a Slovak state nuclear company, and newcleo (49%). Its planned project envisions up to four LFR-AS-200 units with a total capacity of up to 800 MWe on the site of the decommissioned V1 power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice.
The company was founded in 2025 and was previously named CVP. Its headquarters are in Jaslovské Bohunice. Its careers page lists an open position for an electrical power engineer to prepare technical solutions for connecting modular reactors to the grid.
