About Nanocaps
nanoCaps develops supercapacitor electrodes based on interconnected crosslinked carbon nanotubes grown on aluminium foil using atmospheric pressure chemical vapour deposition. The company states that its electrodes give on average more than three times the energy density of current state-of-the-art technology.
The electrodes are aimed at supercapacitor manufacturers and at applications such as trains, wind turbines, electric vehicles, grid balancing, electric vessels and IoT sensor systems. The company is moving from research and product development towards pilot and higher-volume manufacturing and is seeking industrial partners.
nanoCaps was founded in March 2021 by researchers from the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) to commercialise technology developed at USN. The company is based in Borre and works from Vestfold Innovation Park in Horten, co-located with the USN campus. It is hiring a researcher for its research and development department in Horten.
Product: Supercapacitor electrodes made from interconnected crosslinked carbon nanotubes on aluminium foil, plus related supercapacitor products under development.
