About Mistral AI
Mistral AI builds open-weight large language models, AI agents and developer platforms. Its products include Vibe for research, coding and everyday agent work, Studio for building and governing agents and applications, Inference for API access to open-weight and specialist models, Compute for reserved dedicated GPUs, and Forge for customising models.
Customers are enterprises and public-sector organisations in energy, manufacturing, financial services and government; the company names NATO and 20+ national government entities among them. Revenue comes from API inference, dedicated compute, private deployments of custom models and agents, and subscription plans for individuals and teams.
Mistral AI was founded in April 2023 by Arthur Mensch, Guillaume Lample and Timothée Lacroix. It is headquartered in Paris and opened a German hub in Munich. Funding rounds include a seed round in June 2023, a Series A in December 2023, a Series B in June 2024 and a Series C in September 2025. Open positions span data center engineering, Golang software engineering, research, product and legal roles, mainly in Paris, London and Amsterdam.
