About Mindchip

MindChip develops the Artificial Captain, a modular control and autonomy system for unmanned and remotely operated vessels. It combines radar, AIS, lidar and camera data for object detection, tracking and collision avoidance under COLREG rules 13 to 17. The product family starts with Remote Pilot for teleoperation and can be upgraded to Full Autonomy.

Customers typically deploy the Remote Pilot configuration for inspection, monitoring and teleoperated missions, and move to Full Autonomy for scalable operations. The system can be installed on newly built and retrofitted vessels.

MindChip was founded in 2019 and is based in Tallinn, Estonia. The team page describes a small group of researchers and engineers with a background in power electronics, embedded systems, and naval architecture, with links to Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech).

Product: Artificial Captain: modular remote-pilot and full-autonomy control system for unmanned and remotely operated vessels, with a web-based operator interface.
