About Mewery
Mewery develops a cell-based protein production process that combines animal cells with microalgae in a controlled cultivation system. The resulting product, OMNIA, is a food biomass platform designed as a base for food development rather than a finished consumer product. OMNIA Pork is the first species-specific expression of the platform, and the company states the process can handle any animal-based feedstock.
Mewery targets food-industry partners who want to explore product and manufacturing applications of OMNIA, and it also engages investors and research institutions. The company reports a biomass yield above 300 g/L under defined development conditions and has announced pilot projects with meat producers.
Founded in 2019 by Roman Lauš, Mewery is headquartered in Brno, Czech Republic, where it operates R&D and pre-pilot infrastructure with a 200 L capacity. The company has 14 team members, including 6 PhD scientists, and has secured €2.9M in public grants. It is currently hiring a Bioprocess Engineer in Brno.
Product: OMNIA, a co-cultivated animal cell and microalgae biomass platform for food protein development.
