About Leakbot
LeakBot makes a self-install device that clips onto a home's main water pipe and uses its patented Thermi-Q technology to detect hidden micro-leaks. Alerts are sent to the homeowner through the LeakBot app, and employed plumbers can be booked from the app to locate and repair the leak.
Its customers are home insurers, which include the repair cost in their policies and pay for the device and repairs, so homeowners receive the service at no cost. The company names partners including Nationwide, Admiral, Direct Line Group, Hiscox, Länsförsäkringar and TopDanmark, and says it works with 23 insurance partners.
LeakBot was developed within HomeServe Labs, the innovation arm of HomeServe PLC, and the company was incorporated in 2013. In 2022 the business was spun out into Ondo InsurTech PLC, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. LeakBot's headquarters are in London, and the company operates in the UK, the Nordics and the US.
