Lawai builds an AI legal assistant for Norwegian law. Users ask questions to identify relevant legal issues, structure assessments and find the applicable legal basis. They can also upload contracts, minutes or complaints to analyse and summarise them, and use the tool to improve text and draft notes, assessments and guidelines. Reusable prompts and instructions can be saved as "skills" for individuals or a whole organisation.

Customers are organisations in Norway. Lawai offers versions for the municipal, health and state sectors, adapted to their legislation and agreements, and organisations can integrate internal guidelines, collective agreements and staff handbooks so answers reflect their own framework. Prospects can request access and try the service free for 7 days. Lawai also runs Academy, a learning platform on employment law with courses, webinars and HR templates.

Lawai was founded in 2024 and is based in Oslo, with an office in the Vika district. The company states that all data processing and storage takes place within the EU in line with GDPR, and that it is certified to ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 42001 and has completed an independent SOC 2 Type II audit. It is recruiting Account Executives for its sales team in Oslo.
