Mekle

Mekle is a digital mediation service that resolves disputes without court proceedings. Mediators with backgrounds in law, dispute resolution and psychology hold a digital meeting in which each party presents its view and the mediator speaks with each side privately. When the parties agree, the mediator drafts an agreement that is signed with BankID.

The service is used by private individuals in disputes such as separation, estate settlement, buying and selling property or cars, complaints, housing cooperatives and neighbour matters. Mekle has partnerships with Norwegian insurers including Gjensidige, Tryg and Storebrand. For covered cases, the insurer covers the mediation costs, so the customer pays nothing and there is no deductible. Parties can also submit a case directly.

Mekle was founded in 2020 and is headquartered in Oslo, with its premises in the city centre. The company reports that it has helped more than 14 000 parties and that more than 4 out of 5 cases are resolved through it. It was named a Gazelle company in 2025. Open positions include a mediator/lawyer and a part-time student legal adviser, and the company also accepts open applications.
