About kbst-gmbh.de
KBST GmbH develops mobile self-checkout systems for brick-and-mortar grocery retail. The ScanCart is a smart shopping cart with self-checkout and scan-and-go functions, and the ScanBox adds scan-and-go self-service to an existing shopping cart and can be upgraded to the SmartShopper, a cart with weighing and payment functions. The SmartShopper is developed with the partner EXPRESSO, which supplies the cart hardware and manufacturing. The devices run on Android-based software developed by KBST.
Customers are grocery retailers and store operators (Kaufleute) in Germany; the company names EDEKA, Netto and Marktkauf stores among its deployments. Revenue comes from selling the systems, with service options that cover ongoing operation of the devices. The SmartShopper is sold exclusively through EXPRESSO Deutschland.
KBST GmbH was founded in March 2018, after a GbR was formed in September 2017. The company is based in Kassel, Germany. Current openings are for an Android software developer, a technical customer support specialist and an IT specialist for system integration.
Product: ScanCart and ScanBox smart shopping carts with scan-and-go and self-checkout; SmartShopper weighing cart sold via EXPRESSO Deutschland.
