About Ispas

ISPAS AS builds radar and radio-frequency systems. Its Oil Spill Detection (OSD) radar uses FMCW polarimetric Ku-band technology to detect oil on the sea surface, including in calm conditions (sea state 0). The company also offers an RCS (radar cross section) measurement system, anechoic chamber measurement software that works with a vector network analyser, and the Nordic Training Emitter, an X-band RF emitter that simulates real radar systems.

Customers are in defence, aerospace and maritime applications, including offshore oil platforms. The OSD radar has been operational on the Edvard Grieg platform since October 2017 and on Johan Castberg since 2018. ISPAS also provides custom-designed RF equipment and support for indoor and outdoor RCS testing, offered as turn-key solutions.

The company was founded in 2001 and is based in Fredrikstad, Norway. Its team includes systems, RF/microwave, FPGA, hardware/firmware and software engineers.

Product: OSD oil spill detection radar, RCS measurement system, anechoic chamber measurement software and NTE X-band radar emitter.
