About IONATE
IONATE builds the Hybrid Intelligent Transformer (HIT), a solid-state transformer design with precision power flow control and real-time data visibility, rated up to 36 kV and up to 5 MVA. Its Aurora Neuralis platform connects individual transformers into a distributed control layer across a power system.
Customers are data centers, commercial and industrial power users, grid operators, and renewables and storage operators. The company sells the HIT hardware together with its software. It has partnerships with General Motors for a U.S. plant, with JST for U.S. grid projects, and with Magtech (Nortrafo) for manufacturing transformers for Nordic AI data centers.
IONATE was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in London, with an additional office in Vienna. The company states that it is scaling from around 50 to 100 people across several geographies. Its open roles are in London and cover manufacturing and industrialisation, production test, strategic sourcing, power electronics and systems. In 2026 it was selected as a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer.
