About Hycamite TCD Technologies
Hycamite develops catalytic methane-splitting technology that turns natural gas and biomethane into low-carbon hydrogen and solid carbon products, including graphite and carbon nanofibre, in a single process. Its modular technology is supplied for customers' power plants and industrial sites, and can use existing natural gas infrastructure. Onboard methane splitting is also offered for lower-emission LNG shipping.
The hydrogen serves power generation, data centres and heavy industry. Graphitic carbon and carbon nanofibre are sold for battery production, electronics, tyres, concrete, steel and electrically conductive materials. The company works with customers to define material properties, test performance and qualify carbon materials for specific applications.
Hycamite was founded in 2020 and is headquartered in Kokkola, Finland, where its methane decomposition plant in Kokkola Industrial Park has a nominal capacity of 2,000 tonnes of low-carbon hydrogen and 6,000 tonnes of carbon products per year. Its graphite production is recognised by the European Commission as a Strategic Project under the EU Critical Raw Materials Act. The company states that it has raised approximately EUR 62 million since its founding. Its careers page lists open positions in laboratory, engineering, process and analytics roles.
