About hagenbeck.de
Tierpark Hagenbeck is a zoo in Hamburg that keeps more than 1,400 animals from all continents in enclosures and a botanically planted park. It also runs the Tropen-Aquarium, and its Eismeer area covers about 8,000 square metres with polar animals such as penguins, polar bears and walruses. The zoo runs animal-conservation work and a children's programme through the LI-Zooschule.
Visitors are families, children and adults who buy day, group, combined or annual tickets for the zoo and the aquarium, mainly through the Hagenbeck online shop. The zoo states that it receives no state operating subsidies and finances itself mainly from admission fees; larger building projects are funded by sponsors, donors and bequests.
The Tierpark Hagenbeck gGmbH is family-owned and managed by Walter Wolters and Dr. Guido Westhoff. The zoo is based in Hamburg and currently advertises openings for a water technician, animal keeper, carpenter, operations helper and locksmith, and offers an apprenticeship as Tierpfleger/in in the zoo specialism.
Product: Zoo and tropical aquarium admission, guided programmes and the LI-Zooschule children's programme
