About Haffner Energy

Haffner Energy develops and operates a patented biomass thermolysis process that produces Hypergas, a hydrogen-rich renewable syngas. The syngas is the basis for renewable hydrogen, renewable methanol and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The process also yields biochar and biogenic CO2 as co-products.

The company designs, manufactures, supplies and operates energy-production equipment for manufacturers and local governments that want to replace fossil fuels. Stated applications include heat and power for metallurgy, glassmaking, ceramics, paper, brick-making, food processing and petrochemicals, hydrogen for industry and mobility, and methanol for heavy mobility and maritime freight.

Founded in 2015, Haffner Energy is headquartered in Vitry-le-François in the Grand-Est region of France. It operates a production plant in Frignicourt and has offices in Paris and Nantes, plus a representation office in Houston, Texas. The website states more than 30 years of experience in biomass thermolysis, 40 cogeneration projects (600 MW), and 80 international patents. Its co-founders are Philippe Haffner and Marc Haffner.
