About Guthrie Douglas

Guthrie Douglas makes technical shading systems for architectural glazing. Its TESS and SHY product ranges use motorised tensioned fabric that cuts heat gain and glare on skylights, rooflights, glass roofs, atria and façades, and retracts when not in use.

Architects, designers, façade engineers and contractors are the company's customers. It works with them early in the design process to specify systems for individual projects, and its sales team handles specification, tender and order support for UK construction projects.

The company was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in Warwick, UK. Its history dates back to 1985 and the company is still managed by the Guthrie family. It acquired SHY Shading in 2022 and became part of Draper Inc. in 2025. It also has a Middle East office.
