Greenfox Marine

GreenFox Marine AS builds automatic sorting machines for farmed fish. The machines scan fish with high-resolution medical-grade ultrasound and use artificial intelligence to sort them by sex and by internal and external health factors, such as kidney calcification, heart deformities and early sexual maturation. They integrate into existing vaccination lines and sort fish from 20 to 500 grams with a stated precision above 95%.

The company sells its machine solutions to fish farming producers. The machines are designed mainly for Atlantic salmon, trout and coho, with a stated speed of 5,000 fish per hour per line and up to 8 lines that can be synchronised. The company reports sorting many millions of salmon since its first sorting in 2022, in Norway and in foreign markets.

GreenFox Marine was founded in 2020 and is headquartered in Stjørdal, Norway. A Norwegian patent application for automatic sex sorting of farmed fish was approved in 2024. The company won the Innovasjonsprisen 2025 award for its ultrasound and AI sorting technology.
