About Gensight Biologics

GenSight Biologics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing gene therapies to preserve and restore vision. Its lead candidate GS010 is aimed at Leber Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON), and GS030 is an optogenetic treatment for retinitis pigmentosa (RP) that combines a gene therapy with a wearable light-stimulation headset. The company also works on a proprietary mitochondrial targeting sequence (MTS) platform, currently applied to vision loss.

The company develops treatments for severe inherited neurodegenerative eye diseases with limited treatment options, aimed at patients who are blind or at risk of blindness. Its candidates have progressed through Phase 1/2 and Phase 3 trials, and early access programmes have been authorised in France, the U.S. and Israel. The company is preparing the pivotal Phase 3 RECOVER trial of GS010.

GenSight Biologics was founded in Paris in April 2012 by a group of scientists and listed on Euronext Paris in July 2016. Laurence Rodriguez has been Chief Executive Officer since December 2023.
