About Friotherm Finland
Friotherm engineers, manufactures, installs and services heat pumps and chillers. Its offering covers district heating and cooling, high temperature applications, and energy recovery from waste water, flue gas cleaning, ground and surface water, and industrial waste heat. It describes itself as the only European manufacturer of centrifugal compressors for heat pumps and chillers.
Customers include district heating system operators, building architects and operators of industrial production plants. The company sells engineered systems together with installation and service, with solutions developed in close cooperation with each client.
Friotherm Finland Oy was founded in 2025 and is headquartered in Vantaa. The Friotherm group states that it has been in operation since 1936 and that its large-scale heat pump systems have a total capacity of over 2,500 MW. Group companies are listed in Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, France and Brazil. A reference project of the Finnish entity is a 52 MW heat pump plant in Jyväskylä for Alva-yhtiöt Oy.
