About Flyttr
Flyttr develops biosecurity countermeasures against pests that spread disease, threaten food security and damage the environment. Its platform combines autonomous edge-AI pest sensors, AI-powered decision-support built on multi-source data, biological interventions such as engineered Aedes aegypti and Wolbachia-based mosquitoes, and a contract innovation and scale-up service for third parties. The company was formerly known as Oxitec.
Customers include national governments, agricultural authorities, industry, research institutions, multilateral funders and field operators. Announced partnerships include the City of São Paulo for dengue mosquito control and Texas Biomed for New World screwworm solutions.
Flyttr was founded in 2002 and is registered in Abingdon, England. Its website lists its headquarters in Virginia, USA, with R&D centres in California, Texas, England, Scotland, Australia, Brazil, Panama, Djibouti and Uganda. In July 2026 Brazil's ANVISA approved production and sale of its dengue-blocking Wolbachia mosquito solutions.
