About Exciting Instruments
Exciting Instruments develops single-molecule fluorescence technology. Its EI-FLEX benchtop system runs smFRET, FCS and FCCS measurements directly in solution on one integrated platform, with guided alignment, data acquisition and analysis.
Customers are academic institutions and biopharma companies in the US, UK and Europe, working on biomolecular interactions, dynamics and drug development. The company also describes a portfolio of in-solution single-molecule assay kits for pharmaceutical and life science customers.
The company was spun out in September 2021 from research at the University of Sheffield and is headquartered in Sheffield, UK. Its first instrument was installed at a lab in Boston about thirteen months after the spin-out. It is backed by Northern Gritstone, which led its seed round, along with PXN Ventures and Empirical Ventures. It is currently hiring a Product Manager for assay kits.
Product: EI-FLEX benchtop single-molecule fluorescence system for smFRET, FCS and FCCS measurements in solution.
