Emfit

Emfit builds the Emfit Care™ system, which uses a dynamic bed sensor installed under the mattress. The sensor analyses heart and body movement and sends real-time data over WiFi or mobile networks to servers in Finland, where caregivers receive push notifications on Android phones. Alerts cover a resident leaving bed, not returning to bed within a set time, and not being turned within a set time. The system can also connect to a facility's nurse call system through a wired interface and offers an API for data integration.

Its customers are nursing homes and hospital wards; the company names Villa Tapiola in Finland, Holbæk Municipality in Denmark and Graham Care Group in the UK among users. The company sells the sensor-based system to care providers.

Emfit was founded in Finland in 1990 and began operating in elder care in 1996. Its headquarters is in Vaajakoski, Finland. The company reports that its second-generation EMFIT MM bed sensor has been sold under the Abilia name outside North America since Abilia acquired those rights in 2017, and that nearly 100,000 units of that product have been manufactured.
