eMarine Engineering Åland

eMarine engineers, installs and commissions retrofit systems that adjust pumps, fans and HVAC on existing vessels to actual demand instead of worst-case design conditions. Its eMarine Control product uses measured temperatures and operating data to drive variable-frequency drives. Operating data is sent to eMarine Cloud, a shared view of energy reduction per vessel and sub-system, with support from a Remote Operations Center under an active Service Agreement.

Customers are shipowners and vessel operators of bulk carriers, other cargo ships, cruise ships and ferries. Revenue comes from vessel-specific retrofit projects, onboard commissioning and service agreements for ongoing monitoring. The company states a typical payback of 9–18 months and monitoring across more than 100 vessels connected to eMarine Cloud.

eMarine was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Mariehamn, Åland. It also has offices in Stockholm, Tallinn and Singapore. The company holds ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system and is looking for marine engineers, automation specialists, electrical engineers and commissioning engineers.
