Deep Wind Offshore

Deep Wind Offshore is an international developer and owner of offshore wind projects. It matures projects using both floating and bottom-fixed technologies and works with partners on integrated solutions across the value chain, including green hydrogen and derivatives production.

Its business model is joint ownership of projects with partners. Named partners are KHNP in South Korea, Valorem in Estonia and EDF Power Solutions in Norway. Shareholders include Knutsen OAS, Haugaland Kraft, Sunnhordland Kraftlag and Octopus Energy Generation. The project list includes Utsira Nord in Norway (500 MW, floating, lease awarded), Olof Skötkonung in Sweden (1.5 GW), Tuul Energy in Estonia (about 1 GW), Admiral Lee and Abalone in South Korea, and BioBio Sustentable and Golfo De Arauco Sustentable in Chile. The company reports a pipeline of more than 10 GW, with 4 GW under exclusive development.

The company was founded in 2020 by Knut Vassbotn and Hans Petter Øvrevik. Its headquarters is in Haugesund, Norway, and it has local offices in Tallinn, Estonia and Varberg, Sweden. Its careers page lists student programmes, including summer jobs and master's and PhD placements.
