About Cox Powertrain

Cox Marine designs and manufactures the Cox Marine V8 diesel outboard engine, offered in 300 V8 (300 hp / 224 kW) and 350 V8 (350 hp / 260 kW) versions. The engines use compression-ignition diesel technology instead of petrol spark ignition and carry EPA Tier 3, IMO II, RCD II and BSO-II certifications.

Customers are commercial, governmental and recreational marine operators. The company sells through a network of local distributors and service partners and offers commercial warranties of 12 or 18 months and recreational warranties of 5 years.

Cox Powertrain Limited was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Shoreham-by-Sea, UK, where the engines are assembled and tested at a facility at Brighton City Airport. First 300 V8 units shipped in July 2020, and volume production began in 2022.
